Do You Know These Dangers of Internet Shopping?

Danger #1 Tricks A Lot Of Internet Shoppers

Most people think the number one danger of internet shopping is unsecure shopping carts, but this isn't true. (Almost all sites have secure shopping carts, including AwesomeDrinks.com.) The number one danger is ordering with a company with a poor or non-existent guarantee. This is so important because when people shop online they can't pick up a the product, give it a good shake, and closely examine it.

That makes it really difficult to make an educated buying decision. And that's why a company's guarantee is so important. Most companies will give you 30 days from when you place your order (not when you receive it) to send it back for a refund. We feel that's just not enough time to really know if you made the right decision. Our guarantee takes all the risk out of ordering from us. We guarantee that you will be completely thrilled - not just "satisfied" or we'll refund every last penny you spent on the products you bought.

At any time within 6 months of receiving your products if you feel for any reason they fail to live up to our promises or meet your expectations, simply return them to us and we will immediately and cheerfully give you a full refund of the purchase price of the products.

Danger #2 Is Very Sneaky

Most online stores that pull this quick one have a small line buried in their return policy that states that all returned products are subject to a "restocking fee." The truth is that "restocking fees" are imaginary fees dreamed up somewhere to make people hesitate about returning products they don't want. The worst of these companies have the philosophy that if they're going to get a return, they might as well get something out of the customer for the "hassle". Most companies that charge this imaginary fee charge 10-20% of the order total, but a few are as high as 50%. Be sure you check the return policy for this little bit of trickery. AwesomeDrinks.com has not and never will charge a "restocking fee".

Don't Miss Danger #3

With the increasing accessibility to global markets the internet has seen a huge influx of "gray market" products. These are most often cheap foreign knock-offs of legitimate products. First were Japanese versions of cameras sold as a US version of the camera, now Chinese versions of DVDs are widely available. The point is be certain the product is a good quality product before you order. If you're not sure about the quality, make sure the guarantee and return policy are rock solid.

The vast majority of the products at AwesomeDrinks.com are made in the USA. Those imported products that we do offer are of the highest quality, such as the Swiss-made Cocktail Knife Set.

Danger #4 Is An Old Trick Revved Up For The Internet Age

The old "Bait & Switch" trick is alive and well online. The "bait" is super low prices. These sites know that the internet has made it very easy for people to compare prices and if one place has the same product for $5 less why not buy it from there? The "switch" happens when you go to check out and find that shipping and handling charges more than make up for the $5 you're saving. This happened to me about a month ago while buying a software package online. I went to the place with the lowest price and when I started the check out process I found that they wanted $22 for shipping for a one pound box! That's nuts! At most it would cost them $7 including the box, packing and labor so I figured they were going to pocket the "extra" $15.

Everyone likes a good deal, so we try to keep all of our pricing competitive, including shipping charges. The vast majority of our shipments are billed at or near the actual shipping charge plus a small fee that covers the box, labor and packing materials.
